pwMplsMplsType

Module: PW-MPLS-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): PW-MPLS-STD-MIB::pwMplsMplsType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.181.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-write

Description: This object is set by the operator to indicate the outer tunnel types, if existing. mplsTe(0) is used if the outer tunnel is set up by MPLS-TE, and mplsNonTe(1) is used if the outer tunnel is set up by LDP or manually. A combination of mplsTe(0) and mplsNonTe(1) MAY exist. pwOnly(2) is used if there is no outer tunnel label, i.e., in static provisioning without an MPLS tunnel. pwOnly(2) cannot be combined with mplsNonTe(1) or mplsTe(0). An implementation that can identify automatically that the peer node is directly connected MAY support the bit pwOnly(2) as read-only.

What is pwMplsMplsType?

This bitmask, set by the operator, indicates what kind of outer MPLS tunnel carries this pseudowire: mplsTe if set up by MPLS traffic engineering, mplsNonTe if set up by LDP or manually (and these two may combine), or pwOnly if there is no outer tunnel label at all, as in static provisioning without an MPLS tunnel. Admins set it to tell the device how the pseudowire's outer transport is provisioned, which then governs which other objects in this table apply. Setting pwMplsMplsType to pwOnly(2) tells the device this pseudowire has no outer MPLS tunnel and travels directly over the identified interface instead.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.181.1.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PW-MPLS-STD-MIB::pwMplsMplsType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.181.1.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PW-MPLS-STD-MIB::pwMplsMplsType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.181.1.1.1.1.1 s <value>
