pwVcMplsMplsType

Module: PW-MPLS-DRAFT06-MIB

OID (symbolic): PW-MPLS-DRAFT06-MIB::pwVcMplsMplsType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.53.0.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-write

Description: Set by the operator to indicate the outer tunnel types, if exists. mplsTe(0) is used if the outer tunnel was set-up by MPLS-TE, and mplsNonTe(1) is used the outer tunnel was set up by LDP or manually. Combination of mplsTe(0) and mplsNonTe(1) may exist together. vcOnly(2) is used if there is no outer tunnel label, i.e. in static provisioning without MPLS tunnel. vcOnly(2) cannot be combined with mplsNonTe(1) or mplsTe(0).

What is pwVcMplsMplsType?

This read-write BITS value, set by the operator, indicates which outer MPLS tunnel type carries the pseudowire: mplsTe(0) for an MPLS-TE-signaled tunnel, mplsNonTe(1) for an LDP-signaled or manually configured tunnel (which can combine with mplsTe), or vcOnly(2) for no outer tunnel label at all in static provisioning. An admin sets this when provisioning a PW to tell the agent how the outer transport label is being established, which in turn determines which of the related outbound tunnel objects apply. For example, an admin sets this to vcOnly(2) when statically cross-connecting a PW directly to a physical interface with no MPLS tunnel underneath.
