pwVcDown

Module: PW-DRAFT04-MIB

OID (symbolic): PW-DRAFT04-MIB::pwVcDown

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.52.2.0.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: This notification is generated when the pwVcOperStatus object for one or more contiguous entries in pwVcTable are about to enter the down(2) state from some other state. The included values of pwVcOperStatus MUST all be set equal to this down(2) state. The two instances of pwVcOperStatus in this notification indicate the range of indexes that are affected. Note that all the indexes of the two ends of the range can be derived from the instance identifiers of these two objects. For cases where a contiguous range of cross-connects have transitioned into the down(2) state at roughly the same time, the device SHOULD issue a single

notification for each range of contiguous indexes in an effort to minimize the emission of a large number of notifications. If a notification has to be issued for just a single cross-connect entry, then the instance identifier (and values) of the two pwVcOperStatus objects MUST be identical.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' PW-DRAFT04-MIB::pwVcDown
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.99999.52.2.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:53476->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (283158244) 32 days, 18:33:02.44
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: PW-DRAFT04-MIB::pwVcDown
