Category: Power Management

Description: Monitors Bharti Telesoft UPS power systems, providing battery charge, input/output voltage, and alarm status objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PRETUPS-MIB?

PRETUPS-MIB is a proprietary MIB from Bharti Telesoft for their PRETUPS-branded uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, used to remotely monitor the power protection equipment safeguarding telecom and network infrastructure. Only minimal module description text was available, but the object names indicate a structure covering system information, error/alarm state, and notifications. This MIB is squarely about hardware status monitoring in the power domain: it exposes battery charge level, input/output voltage, and alarm/error conditions, letting an administrator confirm the UPS is providing stable power and detect battery degradation or mains failure before it causes an outage. There is no indication of dependency on other standard MIBs; it appears to be a self-contained enterprise UPS MIB. It is deployed wherever Bharti Telesoft PRETUPS UPS units protect telecom racks, base stations, or network equipment closets from power interruption, relying on PRETUPS-MIB SNMP monitoring to catch battery and mains issues before they cause an outage.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRETUPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Bharti Telesoft PRETUPS UPS
  • telecom UPS power system

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll objects under systeminfo to retrieve battery charge percentage and input/output voltage readings, watching for a charge level trending downward that indicates the UPS is running on battery due to a mains outage. The systemerrorerror branch surfaces active fault/alarm conditions, while pretupsnotification and pretupsnotification1 define the trap notifications sent when a UPS alarm (e.g., low battery, overload, or mains failure) is triggered. A sustained drop in output voltage combined with an active error code would typically indicate the UPS is nearing battery exhaustion.

What Can Be Monitored

  • battery charge level
  • input/output voltage
  • alarm/error status
  • UPS fault notifications
