devSonetXmitClkSrc

Module: PDN-SONETEXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-SONETEXT-MIB::devSonetXmitClkSrc

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.13.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to configure the clock to be used by the transmit side of the interface.

What is devSonetXmitClkSrc?

This configures which timing source the SONET interface's transmit side uses to generate its outbound clock signal - recovering it from the received signal (loop timing), using the device's own internal clock (local timing), or passing timing through from another interface (through timing). Administrators set this correctly to avoid clock slips and framing errors, since SONET networks require carefully coordinated timing hierarchies across all connected equipment. In a network where this device should follow the timing of its upstream neighbor rather than generate its own, an admin would set this object to loopTiming.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.13.1.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-SONETEXT-MIB::devSonetXmitClkSrc

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.13.1.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-SONETEXT-MIB::devSonetXmitClkSrc.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.13.1.1.1.2.1 i <value>
