Description: Manages Pandatel GMH series modem configuration, line status, and performance statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB?
PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB is an enterprise MIB for Pandatel's GMH series transmission modems, used on leased-line or dedicated data circuits. It exposes per-modem identification along with data-equipment emulation mode, modem property, clock system/source, data rate, and scrambler configuration. Its monitoring value is largely around configuration and synchronization status: mdmClockSource and mdmDataRate reveal whether a modem is locked to the expected clock reference and running at the contracted line rate, which is the practical way to catch a degraded or misprovisioned circuit on this hardware. It is a standalone Pandatel enterprise MIB with no notable dependency on standard MIBs. It is deployed on point-to-point leased-line or dedicated data transmission links using GMH modems. Engineers can download the PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Pandatel GMH series modems
Monitoring Examples
gmhModemTable/gmhTableEntry, indexed by mdmRack, mdmModem, and mdmPosition, exposes mdmModemName, mdmClockSource, mdmDataRate, and mdmScrambler. An administrator would poll mdmDataRate and mdmClockSource per modem to confirm the unit remains synchronized to the correct clock reference and is delivering the provisioned line rate. A mdmDataRate reading below the nominal contracted rate would flag a line or configuration problem needing investigation.
What Can Be Monitored
- modem data rate
- clock source/system configuration
- modem property/emulation mode
- scrambler setting
- rack/position identification
