mdmForcedRemoteAccess

Module: PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-GMH-MODEM-MIB::mdmForcedRemoteAccess

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.201.1.1.65

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Activation of remote management: 'on' or 'off'. Status 'on' enables management of remote unit. During this process the link is restricted to management data. The transmission of user data is interrupted. Status 'off' disables management of remote unit. The link transmits user data.

What is mdmForcedRemoteAccess?

This read-write value forces the link into a management-only mode when set to on(2), letting the admin manage the remote modem at the cost of interrupting normal user data transmission. Admins use it as a temporary maintenance switch, turning it on to reach and reconfigure the remote unit, then turning it back to off(1) to restore user traffic across the link. For example, a technician sets this object to on(2) to push a configuration change to the remote modem, temporarily halting user data, then sets it back to off(1) once the change is complete to resume normal transmission.
