What Is OG-UPS-MIB?
This is a vendor-specific MIB from Opengear covering UPS (uninterruptible power supply) devices connected to its out-of-band console server/management appliances via a network UPS monitoring integration. It exposes an event table recording UPS-related events, including the name and type of each event. An administrator polls ognupsEventTable, indexed by ognupsEventIndex, to review ognupsEventName and ognupsEventType for recent UPS events such as 'on battery' or 'low battery' conditions. A sequence of events showing the UPS switching to battery followed shortly by a low-battery event would warn operators that a graceful shutdown of dependent equipment may be needed before runtime expires. The module also defines ognupsMibNotifications so that critical UPS state changes can be pushed as SNMP traps rather than requiring constant polling.
