mscVrIpBgpRouteThrottleLimit

Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-BgpMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-BgpMIB::mscVrIpBgpRouteThrottleLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.100.6.21.100.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute specifies the maximum number of routes in the IP forwarding table this Bgp component instance will process at one time to decide if a route in the IP forwarding table should be exported to a peer. This limit is used for the throttling and is made configurable because the throttling requirements will be different under different network configurations. The default value is 250.

What is mscVrIpBgpRouteThrottleLimit?

Caps how many IP forwarding-table routes this BGP instance evaluates at once when deciding what to export to peers, to throttle CPU load during large route churns. The factory default is 250 routes per throttling pass; an admin might lower it on a resource-constrained box or raise it where faster convergence is needed.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.100.6.21.100.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-BgpMIB::mscVrIpBgpRouteThrottleLimit

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.100.6.21.100.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-BgpMIB::mscVrIpBgpRouteThrottleLimit.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.100.6.21.100.1.5.1 i <value>
