Category: Nortel WLAN

Description: Defines textual conventions for licensed feature identifiers and capacity limits on Nortel NTWS WLAN platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NTWS-LICENSE-FEATURE-TC-MIB?

NTWS-LICENSE-FEATURE-TC-MIB is a Nortel NTWS MIB that defines textual conventions (shared data types) for identifying licensable features and their capacity limits on Nortel wireless switch platforms, rather than exposing any monitorable runtime objects itself. It exists purely to standardize how license/feature identifiers are represented so that other NTWS MIBs can reference a consistent type when reporting which optional features or capacity tiers are enabled on a given controller. As a textual-convention-only module it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status, since no uptime, temperature, or performance counters are defined here; its value is entirely definitional/support infrastructure for licensing-related objects elsewhere in the NTWS MIB suite. Other Nortel NTWS MIB modules that expose actual license state or feature-capacity objects would import and depend on these type definitions. It applies to the same Nortel NTWS wireless switch (Access Controller) platform as the rest of the NTWS MIB family, but is not itself deployed as an independently pollable module. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the NTWS-LICENSE-FEATURE-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NTWS-LICENSE-FEATURE-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nortel NTWS wireless LAN controllers (Access Controllers)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only textual conventions (data types) for licensed feature identifiers and capacity limits, with no runtime objects or tables of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it is a supporting/type-definition module consumed by other NTWS MIBs.
