Description: NETGEAR-QOS-ISCSI-MIB module
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NETGEAR-QOS-ISCSI-MIB?
NETGEAR-QOS-ISCSI-MIB is a private Netgear MIB for the iSCSI Flow Acceleration QoS feature, which automatically detects iSCSI storage traffic and applies prioritized QoS marking (802.1p or DSCP) to it. It exposes global settings such as feature enable state, aging timeout, and QoS type/value to apply, along with a per-target configuration table identifying iSCSI targets by TCP port, IP address, and target name. Its monitoring value lies in confirming that iSCSI storage traffic is being correctly identified and prioritized, which is important for detecting storage performance issues caused by iSCSI traffic not receiving the QoS treatment it needs on a converged network. It builds on standard 802.1p/DSCP QoS marking concepts applied specifically to iSCSI flow detection. It is deployed on Netgear switches used in converged storage/networking environments serving iSCSI-based SAN traffic. Engineers can download the NETGEAR-QOS-ISCSI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETGEAR-QOS-ISCSI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Netgear switch with iSCSI Flow Acceleration support
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would check agentIscsiFlowAccelerationEnable and agentIscsiFlowAccelerationQosType/QosDscpValue to confirm iSCSI acceleration is active and using the expected DSCP marking, then review agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigTable/Entry to verify each iSCSI target's agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigAddr and agentIscsiFlowAccelerationTargetConfigTcpPort are correctly registered. If storage performance degrades, checking agentIscsiFlowAccelerationAgingTimeOut helps determine whether flow entries are expiring too quickly and losing their QoS marking. A missing or misconfigured target entry would explain why a particular iSCSI target's traffic isn't being accelerated.
What Can Be Monitored
- iSCSI acceleration enable state
- QoS marking type and value (VPT/DSCP)
- configured iSCSI target IP/port/name
- flow aging timeout
