What Is MRV-IN-REACH-PARAM-CLIENT-MIB?

MRV-IN-REACH-PARAM-CLIENT-MIB is an MRV Communications (InReach terminal-server product line) proprietary MIB reporting the parameter-server client that loads a device's stored configuration from a remote parameter server. Its objects cover the loader system's name/address, parameter version, last-update time, server-check enable/interval/now-trigger, server limit, retransmit interval/limit, client state, protocol-error and server-reject counts, configured server count, and a parameter-server table (name, status, address, stored version/time/status/failure). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which server most recently supplied a device's configuration and watch for repeated server rejects. It is deployed on MRV Communications InReach terminal-server devices. Engineers can download the MRV-IN-REACH-PARAM-CLIENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MRV-IN-REACH-PARAM-CLIENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • parameter-server client sync status and rejects

Supported Devices

  • MRV Communications InReach terminal-server devices

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks paramClientServerRejects to catch a device repeatedly failing to load its configuration from the intended InReach parameter server.
