Description: Manages MITEL PPP interface group configuration and link negotiation state.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is MITEL-PPPGROUP-MIB?
MITEL-PPPGROUP-MIB is a Mitel proprietary MIB (under mitelPropIpNetworking) that manages configuration of PPP interface groups on Mitel networking/voice-gateway devices, covering negotiation order, dynamic IP address assignment, DNS/WINS handling, and per-remote-peer link configuration. It exposes group-wide settings (mitelGblGrpNegotiateFirst, mitelGblGrpDynamicIpAddr, mitelGblGrpDynamicIpAdrrHoldoff, WINS server addresses) plus a remote-peer configuration table (mitelPppGrpRemoteConfigTable) tracking per-connection IP handling and row status. Monitoring this MIB reveals the software-configured and operational state of PPP links — whether dynamic addressing settings are correctly applied and whether individual remote-peer entries remain active via mitelRmtCfgTableStatus — useful for diagnosing failed or misconfigured PPP dial-up or WAN links rather than hardware sensor telemetry. No specific external MIB dependency is called out, though it builds on standard PPP negotiation concepts. It is typically deployed on Mitel WAN/voice gateways using PPP-based dial-up or leased-line connectivity. Engineers can download the MITEL-PPPGROUP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MITEL-PPPGROUP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Mitel WAN gateway / voice gateway with PPP interfaces
Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls mitelPppGrpRemoteConfigTable to check mitelRmtCfgTableStatus and mitelRmtCfgTableIpAddrHandling for each remote peer entry; a peer stuck in a non-active row status alongside a stale mitelRmtCfgTableRemIpAddr indicates a PPP link that failed negotiation, while mitelGblGrpDynamicIpAddr and its holdoff timer reveal whether dynamic address assignment is properly throttled group-wide.
What Can Be Monitored
- PPP negotiation order
- dynamic IP address pool usage
- remote peer connection/row status
- DNS/WINS server configuration
- per-peer IP address handling
