Description: Lenovo MIB defining product OID registrations and device type identifiers for the Lenovo networking and server product portfolio.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is LENOVO-PRODUCTS-MIB?
LENOVO-PRODUCTS-MIB is a Lenovo vendor MIB that defines the object identifier tree used as sysObjectID values to identify specific Lenovo networking switch and server product models, such as the G8296 and G8272 switch families (including CNOS firmware variants). It is a product-identification/registration MIB rather than a data-instrumentation MIB, so it does not itself expose runtime performance, environmental, or fault data. Its practical monitoring value is indirect: a management system reads a device's sysObjectID against this MIB's registrations to determine exactly which Lenovo hardware model and firmware variant (e.g., standard vs. CNOS) it is talking to, which in turn determines which other, data-bearing MIBs apply for hardware/software status polling. It has an implicit dependency on the standard SNMPv2-SMI sysObjectID mechanism it populates. It is typically used during device discovery/inventory in NMS platforms managing mixed Lenovo switch and server fleets. Engineers can download the LENOVO-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LENOVO-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Lenovo networking switches (e.g. G8296, G8272 series)
- Lenovo servers
Monitoring Examples
There are no monitorable data objects in this MIB; sample entries like si4091, g8296, g8296-cnos, g8272, and g8272-cnos are OID arc identifiers used purely to populate sysObjectID for device identification, not runtime counters or status values. A management system would use a discovered sysObjectID matching g8296-cnos, for example, to recognize the device as a Lenovo G8296 switch running CNOS and select the correct vendor MIB for further monitoring, but this MIB itself provides no monitoring data.
