What Is LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG-MIB?
LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG-MIB is the top-level OID registration module for LeftHand Networks, the company HP acquired and rebranded as the HP StorageWorks P4000 SAN storage line. It defines the enterprise OID root and the notifications/objects/conformance/product sub-branches under which the rest of the LeftHand/HP P4000 MIB suite registers its actual storage-management data. As a registration-only module it does not itself carry runtime data, so it plays no direct role in reporting uptime, disk status, RAID health, or performance counters - that is delegated entirely to the product MIB modules that register beneath it. It has a structural dependency on the modules built on top of it (the LeftHand/P4000 storage and system MIBs), which cannot be loaded without this registration tree being defined first. It is deployed in environments running HP StorageWorks P4000 (LeftHand) SAN storage clusters, purely as the organizational root for that vendor's management information. Anyone browsing an HP P4000 device's SNMP tree will find the LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG-MIB OID at the base of every branch used by the storage and system MIBs that hang off it.

There are no pollable runtime values in this module itself; actual disk, RAID, or performance monitoring is done through the separate LeftHand/P4000 storage MIBs that register under this branch.
