Description: This counter is incremented every time the repeater state machine enters the TRANSMIT COLLISION state from any state other than ONE PORT LEFT (Ref: Fig 9-2, IEEE 802.3 Std).
The approximate minimum time for rollover of this counter is 16 hours.
What is rptrMonitorTransmitCollisions?
Counts how many times the repeater as a whole entered a transmit-collision state, a chassis-wide indicator of network contention; because this counter can roll over in as little as 16 hours under load, an admin should poll it frequently to track collision trends accurately.
