Description: Juniper-Internet-CONF module
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-Internet-CONF?
Juniper-Internet-CONF is a Juniper Networks proprietary MIB module that defines SNMP agent capability statements for the basic Layer 3 and Layer 4 'Internet' component of the SNMP agent running on the Juniper E-series family of routers. It belongs to the Juniper enterprise MIB tree and is specifically a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module rather than a data-carrying MIB. As such it does not expose interface, environmental, or performance counters itself; its role is purely to declare which parts of the IETF Internet-family MIBs (IP, TCP, UDP, etc.) the Juniper E-series agent implements. It therefore has a strong structural dependency on the standard IETF Internet-layer MIBs (e.g., IP-MIB, TCP-MIB, UDP-MIB) whose object groups it references. Typical deployment context is internal to the Juniper E-series SNMP agent's self-description, used by management stations to determine feature/version compatibility rather than for direct hardware or software status monitoring. Engineers can download the Juniper-Internet-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-Internet-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper E-series routers
Monitoring Examples
This module contains no sample runtime objects because it is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement, not a data MIB; it simply declares which Internet-layer (IP/TCP/UDP) object groups the Juniper E-series SNMP agent supports at a given software release. An NMS would consult it during capability negotiation to confirm support for specific IP-MIB or TCP-MIB groups rather than to poll live values. No monitoring scenario applies since there are no runtime-monitorable objects in this module.
