All MIBs › Juniper-ATM-CONF
Organization: Juniper Networks, Inc.
Last Updated: 2005-08-17
Category: ATM, Protocol: ATM, Vendor: Juniper
Description: Defines conformance and compliance statements for ATM interface management on Juniper Networks E-series broadband routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-ATM-CONF?
Juniper-ATM-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module for Juniper Networks' E-series broadband routers, declaring which parts of the companion Juniper-UNI-ATM-MIB (ATM interface management) the router's SNMP agent actually implements. It defines no managed objects of its own; instead it lists capability statements mapping to ATM VCC endpoints, VP tunnels, NBMA (non-broadcast multi-access) service, and ATM switch fabric features across different agent versions. Because it is purely a conformance/capabilities declaration, it exposes no interface, environment, performance, or fault data of its own and cannot be polled for hardware or software status directly. It is entirely dependent on the Juniper-UNI-ATM-MIB (and the broader ATM MIB family) whose object support it describes. In practice it is consulted by management systems at MIB-compilation or agent-discovery time to determine which ATM features are supported by a given Juniper E-series software release, rather than used for ongoing runtime monitoring. Engineers can download the Juniper-ATM-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-ATM-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module contains no runtime data objects to poll -- it is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module whose entries (juniAtmVccEndPointAgent, juniAtmVpTunnelAgent, juniAtmNbmaAgent, juniAtmSwitchAgent/V1/V2) merely declare which ATM MIB groups the Juniper E-series agent implements across software releases. An NMS would consult it only during MIB compilation or agent capability discovery, not for ongoing monitoring.
