Description: E Technologies iOnline access device MIB providing SNMP management objects for broadband subscriber line equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IONLINE-MIB?

IONLINE-MIB is a vendor MIB associated with the 24Online/iOnline access management agent used on broadband subscriber access equipment. It exposes pooling-related configuration and status objects, notably a resource pool table that tracks pool usage and object identity/registration information for agent-managed resources. In a monitoring context it is used chiefly to check the operational status of address or session pools on the access device, such as whether a pool is active and how heavily it is used, which is a proxy for subscriber load and capacity headroom. It is a small, self-contained agent MIB with no explicit dependency on other standard MIBs beyond generic SNMP conventions. It is typically deployed on broadband access concentrators or subscriber management gateways where an ISP needs to track address/resource pool consumption via SNMP alongside RADIUS/AAA systems. Engineers can download the IONLINE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IONLINE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • 24Online/iOnline broadband access device
  • subscriber management gateway

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll ioPoolTable/ioPoolEntry, indexed by pool identity, to read ioPoolUsage and ioPoolStatus for each configured pool. A rising ioPoolUsage approaching capacity combined with a degraded ioPoolStatus would indicate the subscriber address pool is close to exhaustion, prompting capacity expansion. ioPoolORId and ioPoolORDescr provide an object-registration description useful for identifying which pool/service the entry corresponds to.

What Can Be Monitored

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using ioPoolUsage OID:

Select an 24Online/iOnline broadband access device / subscriber management gateway as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type ioPoolUsage into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. It reports % pool usage. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an Integer32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value drifts significantly from its normal baseline, since an unexpected change often points to a real underlying issue. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
