What Is HUAWEI-WLAN-VAP-MIB?

This is a Huawei private enterprise MIB for managing Virtual Access Point (VAP) configuration on Huawei WLAN controllers and access points, where a single physical radio can host multiple logical VAPs. It exposes configuration objects for per-VAP SSID, authentication/encryption type, and VLAN binding, defining how each virtual wireless network is presented and secured. While primarily a configuration MIB, administrators use it to confirm the software-defined state of each VAP — that the intended SSID, security mode, and VLAN mapping are actually applied — which is essential to diagnosing wireless service or client-connectivity problems that stem from misconfiguration rather than hardware failure. It works together with Huawei's broader WLAN MIB family (including HUAWEI-WLAN-CONFIGURATION-MIB) that governs the radio and controller layers underneath each VAP. It is deployed on Huawei WLAN access controllers (AC) and access points (AP) in enterprise and campus wireless deployments.
