Description: Huawei VLL (Virtual Leased Line) statistics MIB for per-circuit traffic counters on Ethernet and ATM pseudowire services.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-VLL-STATISTIC-MIB?
HUAWEI-VLL-STATISTIC-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary SNMP module for Huawei carrier routers and switches that collects statistics for Virtual Leased Line (VLL) services, a pseudowire technology emulating point-to-point circuits over a packet backbone using Ethernet or ATM encapsulation. It exposes per-circuit traffic counters such as packet and byte counts, discards, and errors for each configured VLL pseudowire. Operators use it to monitor the operational performance of pseudowire circuits, watching for rising discard or error counters that indicate congestion, misconfiguration, or a failing PE-to-PE path, effectively monitoring the software/forwarding-plane health of the VLL service rather than physical hardware. It depends on Huawei's underlying VLL/pseudowire configuration MIBs (and conceptually on the IETF PW-MIB family) for the circuit definitions these statistics are indexed against. It is typically deployed in MPLS/carrier-Ethernet backbones where Huawei PE routers terminate VLL pseudowires for enterprise leased-line replacement services. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-VLL-STATISTIC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-VLL-STATISTIC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei MPLS/carrier-Ethernet PE router
- Huawei switch supporting VLL pseudowire services
Monitoring Examples
Based on the module's stated purpose, an operator would poll per-circuit counter tables (a VLL statistic table indexed by pseudowire ID) to track transmitted/received packet and byte counts and error counts for each pseudowire; a sudden rise in discards or errors on one circuit while others remain steady would point to a specific failing PE-CE link or an oversubscribed pseudowire. No literal object names were included in the sample set for this module, so exact identifiers are inferred rather than quoted.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-circuit packet counts
- per-circuit byte counts
- discard/error counters
- pseudowire traffic statistics
