Description: Huawei TFTP client MIB for managing TFTP-based file transfers for configuration and software image management.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-TFTPC-MIB?
HUAWEI-TFTPC-MIB is a Huawei enterprise MIB managing the device's built-in TFTP client, used for transferring configuration files and software images to and from a TFTP server. It exposes configuration objects (server address, file name, transfer direction) and, typically, status objects indicating whether a transfer is in progress, succeeded, or failed. Its monitoring relevance is squarely software-operational: confirming that a configuration backup or firmware upgrade transfer completed successfully, or catching a failed transfer that could leave a device without an updated image or backup. It has no significant dependency beyond the standard TFTP protocol itself. Deployment context is any Huawei router or switch where administrators use TFTP-based file transfer for firmware upgrades or configuration backup/restore, often triggered from a network management system, and administrators can download the HUAWEI-TFTPC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-TFTPC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei router
- Huawei switch
- Huawei enterprise routers and switches (VRP-based)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll a transfer-status object after initiating a TFTP file-copy operation to confirm a configuration or firmware image transfer completed successfully, with a failed or timed-out status revealing connectivity or file-path problems with the TFTP server.
What Can Be Monitored
- TFTP transfer status
- transfer direction
- configured TFTP server address
- file transfer result
