Description: Huawei ATM OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) MIB for configuring and monitoring ATM F4/F5 OAM cell flows and loopback tests.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-ATM-OAM-MIB?

HUAWEI-ATM-OAM-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary MIB implementing ATM Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) management, covering configuration and monitoring of ATM F4 (VP-level) and F5 (VC-level) OAM cell flows and loopback tests. It exposes objects for configuring OAM loopback tests and monitoring the continuity/fault-detection results these OAM cells produce on ATM virtual paths and virtual channels. Its monitoring value is squarely in fault/connectivity status of ATM circuits: detecting alarm indication signals, remote defect indications, and loopback test failures that reveal a broken or degraded ATM path, which is critical hardware/link-layer status information on ATM-based WAN equipment. It builds on the standard ATM-MIB (RFC 2515) framework for VPI/VCI addressing, adding Huawei-specific OAM management on top. It is deployed on Huawei ATM switches and multiservice access platforms in legacy ATM/DSL backbone and aggregation networks. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-ATM-OAM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-ATM-OAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei ATM switch
  • Huawei multiservice access platform

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would configure and poll F5 loopback test results per VPI/VCI to verify end-to-end continuity of an ATM virtual channel, with a failed loopback or a reported AIS/RDI condition indicating a break in the ATM path that needs escalation to the transport layer. No sample_objects were supplied for this module, so specific table/object names are inferred from the module's stated OAM scope rather than confirmed from source.

What Can Be Monitored

  • F4/F5 OAM loopback test status
  • ATM path continuity
  • AIS/RDI alarm status
  • OAM cell flow configuration
