Description: Marvell Semiconductor special BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit) handling MIB for configuring filtering of STP and other protocol PDUs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MARVELL-SpecialBpdu-MIB?

MARVELL-SpecialBpdu-MIB is a MARVELL Semiconductor, Inc. proprietary MIB (built on RADLAN-MIB) configuring special BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit) handling — e.g., forwarding vendor-specific control frames by MAC/protocol match. Its table, keyed by index, records MAC address, encapsulation, protocol ID, action, and row status, with a companion hardware table recording the hardware action. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm how special BPDU-like frames are handled (forward/drop/trap) on a Marvell-switch-silicon-based device. It is deployed on switching equipment built on Marvell switch silicon (special BPDU handling). Engineers can download the MARVELL-SpecialBpdu-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MARVELL-SpecialBpdu-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Switching equipment built on Marvell switch silicon (special BPDU handling)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks rlSpecialBpduAction to confirm how a specific vendor control-frame MAC/protocol match is handled on a Marvell-silicon-based switch.
