What Is HUAWEI-BRAS-SRVCFG-EAP-MIB?
HUAWEI-BRAS-SRVCFG-EAP-MIB (module hwBRASSrvcfgEap, under hwBRASMib 4) is a Huawei enterprise MIB for 802.1x/EAP-based subscriber authentication configuration on Huawei BRAS platforms. hwDot1xSystemConfigTable defines per-template 802.1x parameters — handshake enable/count/interval, whether to end EAP sessions and with which protocol (PAP or CHAP), whether to send EAP-SIM parameters, authentication/request timeouts and retry counts, and re-authentication interval — each row created and managed via hwDot1xRowStatus. Alongside the table, global scalars control system-wide behavior: hwDot1xGlobal (master enable), hwDot1xAuthenMethod (chap/pap/eap), hwDot1xDhcpTrigger (start authentication on a DHCP packet), hwDot1xHandshake, hwDot1xQuietPeriod, and hwDot1xRetry. This models the control-plane configuration of subscriber EAP authentication rather than live session counts, so its monitoring value is mainly in confirming a BRAS's authentication policy (timeouts, retry counts, method) matches what operations intends. It depends on IF-MIB, Q-BRIDGE-MIB, and P-BRIDGE-MIB textual conventions and is deployed on Huawei BRAS platforms handling subscriber access authentication, for which the HUAWEI-BRAS-SRVCFG-EAP-MIB download supplies the object set.
