Description: Huawei CES (Circuit Emulation Service) MIB for managing circuit emulation over packet networks including configuration and performance monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-CES-MIB?

HUAWEI-CES-MIB is Huawei's Circuit Emulation Service (CES) management MIB, used to configure and monitor circuit emulation of legacy TDM/E1/T1 circuits over Huawei packet-switched networks. It exposes NMS-facing objects for CES service configuration and, typically for this class of MIB, performance and alarm monitoring covering circuit synchronization, jitter-buffer status, and packet loss on the emulated circuit. Its monitoring relevance centers on service/software status and circuit-level fault detection: whether an emulated circuit is synchronized and error-free, since CES is used to carry latency-sensitive legacy traffic (such as voice trunks or leased-line replacement) over a packet core where jitter or loss directly degrades the emulated TDM signal. It typically works alongside standard interface and pseudowire/PWE3-related MIBs, since CES is one application of packet-based circuit emulation across an MPLS or Ethernet transport. It is deployed on Huawei packet-transport equipment in carrier networks replacing traditional TDM leased lines with packet-based emulation. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-CES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-CES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei packet-transport network equipment (CES-capable)

Monitoring Examples

No detailed sample objects were captured for this MIB, so specific table/object names cannot be confirmed; functionally, a carrier engineer would use a CES MIB of this type to check whether an emulated E1/T1 circuit remains synchronized and to monitor jitter-buffer underrun/overrun and packet-loss counters, since a rise in these would translate directly into audible/data errors on the emulated legacy circuit.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CES circuit synchronization status
  • jitter buffer status
  • packet loss on emulated circuit
  • CES service configuration
