Description: Huawei LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol, IEEE 802.1AB) MIB for managing LLDP port configuration, neighbor discovery, and LLDP-MED extensions.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-LLDP-MIB?
HUAWEI-LLDP-MIB is a Huawei vendor extension of the standard IEEE 802.1AB Link Layer Discovery Protocol MIB, adding Huawei-specific controls for global LLDP enable/disable, per-port alarms, and clearing of port-level LLDP statistics. It exposes configuration data (global and per-port LLDP settings, management IP addressing for the local system) alongside alarm and statistics objects. Its monitoring value is largely software/topology status: confirming LLDP is globally enabled, watching per-port alarms that fire on unexpected neighbor changes, and tracking cleared/accumulated statistics counters, which together help detect an unexpected cabling change or a lost neighbor relationship. It explicitly extends the standard IETF/IEEE LLDP-MIB (802.1AB) rather than replacing it, so the two are typically read together. It is deployed on Huawei enterprise and carrier switches and routers for automated network topology discovery and cabling verification. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-LLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-LLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei switches
- Huawei routers
Monitoring Examples
No sample object names were provided for this module. Based on the module description, an administrator would monitor the per-port LLDP alarm objects and the neighbor management-IP-address information to detect either an unexpected new neighbor showing up on a port or an existing neighbor disappearing after a statistics-clear operation, which typically indicates a physical link or cabling change.
What Can Be Monitored
- global LLDP enable/disable state
- per-port LLDP alarm status
- neighbor management IP addresses
- port LLDP statistics
