Description: HUAWEI-BRAS-IPTN-MIB module
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-BRAS-IPTN-MIB?
HUAWEI-BRAS-IPTN-MIB is a Huawei proprietary MIB for the "IPTN" (IP tunnel) module on Huawei Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) platforms, used in broadband subscriber-access networks. Given the minimal module description captured, exact object names cannot be confirmed, but MIBs in this BRAS family typically expose tunnel configuration and per-tunnel/session status relevant to subscriber traffic tunneling used to backhaul broadband sessions. Its monitoring relevance is to software/session status: whether configured IP tunnels are up, how many subscriber sessions ride a given tunnel, and tunnel-level fault conditions that would affect broadband service delivery. It is used alongside other BRAS MIBs (RADIUS, static-user, DHCP) as part of Huawei's broadband access-server management suite, since subscriber sessions traverse these tunnels. It is deployed on Huawei BRAS platforms in carrier broadband-access (DSL/PON) networks. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-BRAS-IPTN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-BRAS-IPTN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei BRAS (Broadband Remote Access Server) platforms
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were captured for this MIB, so a grounded object-level example cannot be constructed; functionally, an operator would use a MIB of this type to check whether configured IP tunnels on the BRAS are operationally up and how many subscriber sessions are currently mapped to each tunnel, to detect a tunnel failure affecting a batch of broadband subscribers.
What Can Be Monitored
- IP tunnel configuration
- tunnel operational status
- subscriber sessions per tunnel
