What Is HP-SN-MPLS-TC-MIB?
HP-SN-MPLS-TC-MIB is a support module for the HP SN (Foundry-heritage) MPLS MIB family, defining shared Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITY values used by other HP SN MPLS MIBs such as HP-SN-MPLS-LSR-MIB. It does not itself expose any tables or scalar management objects -- it only supplies data-type and identity definitions that those other modules import. As such it has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software state; any operational monitoring of MPLS behavior on the device happens through the MIBs that import these conventions. It is a dependency module in the strict sense: virtually every MPLS-related HP SN MIB relies on the types it defines, mirroring the pattern of the IETF's own MPLS-TC-MIB. It appears purely as an underlying schema component in HP/Foundry-heritage MPLS router deployments, never queried directly by network management stations; anyone tracing the HP-SN-MPLS-TC-MIB OID tree will find only these shared type and identity values rather than pollable data.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-SN-MPLS-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral schema/support module, not tied to a specific manufacturer
- HP/Foundry-heritage MPLS routing switch (indirectly)
Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/support module containing only Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITY definitions (its sample_objects list is empty) -- it has no runtime tables or scalars of its own to poll, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its value is entirely in standardizing data types consumed by sibling MPLS MIBs.
