Description: This MIB object is used to configure the openflow instance pipeline model. A value of 0(none) indicates no table pipeline model which is equal to standard match. A value of 1(standardMatch) enables an instance in advertising its policy-engine and software tables. A value of 2(ipControlTable) enables an OpenFlow 1.3 instance in advertising its IP control table. A value of 3(customPipeline) enables an OpenFlow controller to create a custom OpenFlow table pipeline in the OpenFlow 1.3 instance.

What is hpicfOpenFlowInstancePipelineModel?

This configures which table pipeline an OpenFlow 1.3 instance advertises to the controller: none/standardMatch for the default policy-engine-and-software tables, ipcontrolTable to advertise the IP control table, or customPipeline to let the controller build its own custom table layout. An admin picks customPipeline when the controller application needs full control over table structure rather than the switch's default layout.
