hpicfBfdSessConfigDesiredMinTxInterval

Module: HP-ICF-BFD-MIB

OID (symbolic): HP-ICF-BFD-MIB::hpicfBfdSessConfigDesiredMinTxInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.120.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: BfdIntervalTC

Access: read-write

Description: This object specifies the minimum interval, in microseconds, that the local system would like to use when transmitting BFD Control packets. The value of zero(0) is reserved in this case, and should not be used.

What is hpicfBfdSessConfigDesiredMinTxInterval?

This value sets, in microseconds, the minimum interval at which the local system wants to transmit BFD Control packets, per RFC 5880 section 4.1, and the description notes zero is reserved and must not be used. Admins tune it to control how aggressively the switch sends BFD keepalives, balancing fast failure detection against control-plane overhead. Setting this to 100000 (100ms) makes the switch attempt to transmit BFD control packets roughly ten times per second on that session.
