What Is HORIZON-ODU-MIB?

HORIZON-ODU-MIB is a legacy proprietary MIB (built on HORIZON-MIB) for the ODU (Outdoor Unit) of a microwave radio link. Its objects cover a system-reset action (resets NIC, modem, and radio), a save-MIB action, operational status, air-interface encryption, system redundancy, current/licensed speed, system mode, upgrade-licensed-speed, redundancy mode/override/link-status/standby-Ethernet-state/state-switch, and serial/assembly numbers for the unit, IF, RF, NCC (Network Control Card?), and diplexer subassemblies, plus an OMNI version number. As a status/configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm radio-link redundancy state and licensed capacity on this legacy microwave ODU. It is deployed on legacy microwave-radio Outdoor Unit (ODU) equipment. Engineers can download the HORIZON-ODU-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HORIZON-ODU-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • radio-link redundancy state and licensed/current capacity

Supported Devices

  • DragonWave Horizon-series microwave radio Outdoor Unit (ODU)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hzOduSystemRedundancyLinkStatus and hzOduSystemCurrentSpeed to confirm radio-link redundancy state and current capacity on this legacy microwave ODU.

INT hzOduRadio1TransmitPowerDbm1.3.6.1.4.1.7262.2.2.5.1.3.2INTEGERread-writeThis defines the transmit level of the radio. If ATPC is enabled, you can't change the transmit power. The power you see is divided by 10. e.g. A display of 133 is actually 13.3 dBm. If the radio is operational and not muted, it is the current transmitting power. If the radio is operational and muted, it is the programmed transmitting power, and will transmit at this level when the radio is un-muted. If the radio is not operational it is the programmed transmitting power, and will transmit at this level when the radio is operational and not muted. If the radio does not have transmit calibration tables programmed into its EEPROM, this transmit power level cannot be used as it is not possible to accurately calculate the actual transmit level. In this case this object will return -99.
