Description: Siemens HiPath Wireless product registration MIB defining OID hierarchy for HiPath WLAN product families.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HIPATH-WIRELESS-PRODUCTS-MIB?

HIPATH-WIRELESS-PRODUCTS-MIB is a product-identification MIB module, originally from Enterasys/Siemens, that defines the object identifier (OID) hierarchy used to uniquely identify different HiPath Wireless hardware product models (the module description itself states it defines OIDs assigned to Enterasys Wireless hardware devices). It does not expose any operational data, counters, or configuration objects — it is purely a registration tree so that a device's sysObjectID can point to a specific product-family OID. Because it carries no runtime objects, it has no direct role in monitoring hardware/software status such as uptime, temperature, or CPU load; its only function is enabling management systems to identify which specific wireless product model an agent represents. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI OBJECT IDENTIFIER conventions and complements the primary HiPath Wireless MIB modules that do carry live data. It is used across HiPath/Enterasys wireless controller and access point deployments purely for device-type identification during discovery, relying on the HIPATH-WIRELESS-PRODUCTS-MIB OID tree to map a device's sysObjectID to its specific product model.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HIPATH-WIRELESS-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor-specific product-identification module for HiPath/Enterasys wireless controllers and access points

Monitoring Examples

This module is a pure OID-registration/product-identification tree and contains no runtime data objects (no tables, counters, or scalars beyond the identifier assignments), so no concrete monitoring scenario applies. A management system would use the OIDs it defines only to match a device's sysObjectID to a known HiPath Wireless product model during inventory discovery. There is nothing here for an admin to poll for operational status.
