Description: Hikvision device management MIB for monitoring and configuring Hikvision network video surveillance devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HIK-DEVICE-MIB?

HIK-DEVICE-MIB is a Hikvision vendor MIB for managing and monitoring Hikvision network video surveillance devices such as network video recorders (NVRs) and IP cameras. Its object list shows both device identity/configuration data (device type, manufacturer, MAC address, hardware/software version) and hardware resource status (CPU usage, memory size/used, disk size/usage). This MIB is explicitly geared toward monitoring the hardware and software status of the device: administrators can track CPU load and memory utilization to catch performance degradation, disk capacity/usage to catch storage exhaustion on a recording device, and hardware/software version to verify firmware currency, with a remote restart capability also exposed. As a self-contained vendor device MIB it does not appear to lean heavily on external standard MIBs for its core objects, though it would sit alongside standard SNMP framework MIBs. It is deployed on Hikvision NVRs, DVRs, and network cameras that expose SNMP for centralized surveillance-infrastructure monitoring. Engineers can download the HIK-DEVICE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HIK-DEVICE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Hikvision NVRs/DVRs
  • Hikvision IP cameras

Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system can poll cpuPercent and memUsed/memSize on a Hikvision NVR to detect CPU or memory pressure during heavy recording/playback load, and check diskPercent against diskSize to catch a recording volume approaching full capacity before it starts overwriting footage. softwVersion and hardwVersion let an admin audit firmware levels across a camera fleet, and restartDev provides a remote recovery action if the device becomes unresponsive.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CPU utilization percentage
  • memory size and used memory
  • disk size and disk usage percentage
  • hardware and software version
  • device type and MAC address
  • remote device restart
