Description: HH3C MIB for voice VLAN configuration automatically assigning IP phone traffic to a designated voice VLAN.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-VOICE-VLAN-MIB?
HH3C-VOICE-VLAN-MIB manages the voice VLAN feature on H3C LAN switches, which automatically classifies traffic from attached IP phones into a dedicated VLAN for QoS and security separation from data traffic. It exposes configuration objects controlling voice VLAN enable state, mode (auto/manual), and per-port voice VLAN assignment on H3C switch products. Its monitoring value is mainly configuration-state verification: confirming a port connected to an IP phone has correctly been placed into the voice VLAN helps catch cases where phone traffic is not receiving intended QoS treatment or VLAN isolation, which would show up as phones behaving as ordinary data-VLAN devices. It extends the standard Q-BRIDGE-MIB VLAN model with H3C's voice-specific classification logic. It is deployed on H3C access-layer LAN switches supporting IP telephony deployments in enterprise environments. Engineers can download the HH3C-VOICE-VLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-VOICE-VLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C LAN switch
Monitoring Examples
No sample object names were provided in the source for this module, so specific OIDs cannot be cited, but typical monitoring involves polling per-port voice VLAN mode and assigned VLAN ID to confirm ports with attached IP phones have been auto-classified correctly. A phone port that remains in its default data VLAN rather than being moved to the voice VLAN would indicate the auto-detection or manual configuration has not taken effect.
What Can Be Monitored
- voice VLAN enable status
- voice VLAN mode (auto/manual)
- per-port voice VLAN assignment
