Description: HH3C MIB for Virtual Bridge Router (VBR) providing management of bridged routing instances on H3C devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-VBR-MIB?
HH3C-VBR-MIB is a private H3C enterprise MIB for managing Virtual Bridge Router (VBR) groups used to control port extenders (PEXs) under the IEEE 802.1BR standard, which lets a central controller bridge manage remote extender ports as if they were local. It exposes configuration tables for VBR groups and their ID ranges, as well as tables for the cascade/CAS ports connecting extenders to the controller bridge. Monitoring with this MIB centers on the operational topology and software-defined structure of the extended bridge — confirming which VBR groups and port-extender associations are configured and active — rather than raw hardware sensors. Because 802.1BR extends standard bridging, this MIB depends conceptually on standard bridge/interface MIBs (e.g. IF-MIB) for the underlying port objects it references. It is deployed on H3C switches acting as controller bridges or port extenders in an 802.1BR fabric. Engineers can download the HH3C-VBR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-VBR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C switches (802.1BR controller bridges and port extenders)
Monitoring Examples
An operator can poll hh3cVbrGroupTable (via hh3cVbrGroupEntry, keyed by hh3cVbrGroupId) to check hh3cVbrGroupDescr and hh3cVbrGroupRowStatus, confirming which VBR groups are actively configured. hh3cVbrCasPortTable, indexed by hh3cVbrCasPortIndex, can be checked to verify cascade ports are correctly associated within the expected hh3cVbrMinAssociateId/hh3cVbrMaxAssociateId range. hh3cVbrTraps would notify the NMS of topology changes such as a port extender losing its cascade link.
What Can Be Monitored
- VBR group configuration and status
- VBR group ID range
- cascade port associations
- port extender association IDs
- VBR topology change traps
