Category: Device Management, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages software license files, feature entitlements, and activation status on H3C network platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-LICENSE-MIB?

HH3C-LICENSE-MIB manages software licensing on H3C network platforms, covering license keys, activation files, and per-feature entitlement usage. It exposes device-info objects (serial number, device ID, hardware info) tied to license binding, plus scalar/table objects tracking maximum and currently-used license counts and operation-index bookkeeping, along with license-related notifications. Its monitoring value is software-status oriented: tracking how many license units are in use versus the maximum allowed to catch a device approaching or exceeding its licensed capacity, and confirming the hardware/serial identity a license is bound to. It is vendor-specific but conceptually parallels the ENTITY-MIB's physical-index-based identification for tying licenses to hardware. It is deployed across H3C switches/routers/appliances wherever paid feature licensing or capacity entitlements need enforcement and tracking. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the HH3C-LICENSE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-LICENSE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switches/routers/network appliances

Monitoring Examples

hh3cLicenseDevInfoTable/hh3cLicenseDevInfoEntry, indexed by hh3cLicensePhysicalIndex, expose hh3cLicenseSN and hh3cLicenseDeviceID so an admin can confirm which chassis a license is bound to. hh3cLicenseMaxNum and hh3cLicenseUsedNum reveal how close a feature's usage is to its licensed cap, letting an operator anticipate needing additional license capacity before hh3cLicenseUsedNum reaches the limit and hh3cLicenseNotifyEnable-driven traps fire.

What Can Be Monitored

  • licensed feature max count
  • licensed feature used count
  • device serial number/ID bound to license
  • license threshold/notification events
