Description: GMPLS-TC-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is GMPLS-TC-MIB?

GMPLS-TC-MIB is an IETF standards-track support module that defines Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITIES used by other MIB modules that manage Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) networks. It contains no runtime data objects of its own, functioning purely as a shared type library for GMPLS-related MIBs (such as those covering label switched paths, traffic engineering links, and interface signaling). Consequently it has no direct role in reporting hardware/software status, uptime, or performance counters. A GMPLS-TC-MIB reference is commonly kept on hand when compiling GMPLS TE-link or LSR MIBs, since those modules import its textual conventions directly. Numerous GMPLS management MIBs (e.g., for TE links, LSRs, and signaling) depend on this module for consistent data typing. It is deployed in carrier and service-provider environments wherever GMPLS-capable optical or packet switching equipment is managed via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GMPLS-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, not tied to a specific manufacturer; applies to GMPLS-capable optical/packet switches and routers

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITIES for use by other GMPLS MIBs; it contains no sample runtime objects or tables, so no concrete monitoring scenario applies here — it is a type-definition support module, not a data source.
