Description: GBNL2Switch-MIB module
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is GBNL2Switch-MIB?
GBNL2Switch-MIB is a Greentech proprietary MIB (extending the standard Q-BRIDGE-MIB) implementing core Layer 2 switching features on Greentech managed switches. Its objects cover a broadcast-suppression setting, DLF (Destination Lookup Failure, i.e., unknown-unicast) forwarding enable and a per-port forwarding table, a MAC address table (address, VID, port, status), a per-port MAC-learning table with a global max-count limit, and IGMP snooping configuration (enable, alerts, aging, egress ports, default group policy, max response time). As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm MAC-learning limits and IGMP snooping settings on a Greentech switch. It is deployed on Greentech managed switches. Engineers can download the GBNL2Switch-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GBNL2Switch-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Greentech managed switches
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks macAddressMaxCount to confirm a port's MAC-learning limit is appropriately sized before troubleshooting a security-related MAC-limit violation on a Greentech switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- MAC learning limits and IGMP snooping configuration
