Category: Textual Conventions and Registries, Vendor: Fujitsu

Description: Fujitsu Network Communications MIB defining common textual conventions shared across FSS product MIBs.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FSS-COMMON-TC?

FSS-COMMON-TC is a Fujitsu Network Communications vendor MIB that defines shared textual conventions (TCs)-custom SNMP data types-reused across multiple product-specific MIBs in the Fujitsu 1Finity/FSS enterprise MIB family. As a pure textual-convention module it defines no runtime tables or scalar objects of its own and therefore exposes no directly pollable data. Its role is purely structural, standardizing type definitions (such as enumerations or index types) so that other FSS MIBs, including modules like FSS-COMMON-LOG, can reference consistent data representations for alarms, states, and identifiers. It is depended upon by essentially every other Fujitsu 1Finity/FSS product MIB that imports its textual conventions. The FSS-COMMON-TC MIB is present wherever Fujitsu 1Finity network element MIBs are deployed, functioning as a shared library rather than a standalone monitoring target.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FSS-COMMON-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor-neutral within the Fujitsu 1Finity/FSS product family, not an end-device MIB itself; applies to Fujitsu 1Finity network elements generally

Monitoring Examples

This is a textual-conventions-only module with no runtime data objects of its own, so no monitoring scenario applies; its type definitions are consumed indirectly whenever another FSS/1Finity MIB, such as FSS-COMMON-LOG, references one of its shared textual conventions for an alarm, state, or index value.
