What Is BCN-TC-MIB?
BCN-TC-MIB is a supporting textual-conventions module used across BlueCat Networks' family of MIBs, which cover BlueCat's DNS/DHCP/IPAM appliance product line (e.g., the Adonis series). It defines shared enumerated types and string formats rather than any runtime data objects, so it exposes no interface, environment, or performance information on its own. Because it carries no pollable objects, it has no direct role in reporting hardware or software status; that responsibility belongs to the BCN-* data MIBs that import these conventions to describe appliance state, faults, and configuration. Virtually every other BlueCat MIB module depends on this module for its shared data types. It is deployed as a foundational schema component alongside BlueCat DNS/DHCP/IPAM appliances in enterprise network infrastructure, and the BCN-TC-MIB MIB is typically compiled first so that other BlueCat modules resolve their shared types correctly.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BCN-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- BlueCat Adonis 2500 (2025) — current DNS/DHCP/IPAM hardware appliance in active support contracts
- BlueCat Adonis 1000/500 (v4.0, 2023) — DNS/DHCP appliances with Pre-Admission Network Access Controls
Monitoring Examples
This is a textual-conventions-only module with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so no concrete monitoring scenario can be described from it directly; other BlueCat MIB modules import its type definitions to represent appliance status and configuration consistently.
