Description: Brocade Foundry IGMP MIB providing Internet Group Management Protocol configuration, group membership, and multicast routing objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB?

FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB is a Brocade (formerly Foundry Networks) vendor MIB for managing IGMP on Foundry/Brocade switches and routers, covering multicast group membership and IGMP snooping/routing configuration. It exposes per-interface IGMP configuration such as query interval and group membership timeout, dynamic and static multicast group membership tables, and per-interface group address/age tracking. It supports monitoring of multicast software/protocol state -- specifically which multicast groups are active on which interface and the age of each membership entry -- helping operators verify multicast forwarding is correctly tracking receiver interest and detect stale or missing group memberships. It is part of Foundry/Brocade's "SN" enterprise MIB family and depends on the broader IGMP protocol standard (RFC 2236/3376) it manages, alongside other Foundry SN MIBs for interface indexing. It is deployed on Foundry/Brocade switches and routers in networks running IP multicast applications, such as video streaming or financial market data feeds, where IGMP group membership must be tracked per interface. Engineers can download the FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Brocade/Foundry Networks switches and routers

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll snIgmpIfTable (snIgmpQueryInterval, snIgmpGroupMembershipTime) to confirm IGMP timers are set as expected on an interface, then check group entries (snIgmpIfGroupAddress, snIgmpIfGroupAge) to see which multicast groups are actively joined and how recently. A group's age continuously resetting well below the membership timeout confirms active receivers, whereas a group aging out with no renewed query response would flag a lost multicast receiver.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IGMP query interval and group membership timeout per interface
  • active multicast group addresses per interface
  • group membership age
  • static multicast group configuration
