snIgmpQueryInterval

Module: FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB::snIgmpQueryInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.2.6.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This is the time interval at which this entity sends out IGMP host query packets. For a router, snDvmrpEnable must have been set to 'enabled' before this object is writen. For a switch, snSwGroupIpMcastMode must have been set to 'enabled' and snSwIpMcastQuerierMode must have been set to 'querier' before this object is writen. Value 0 cannot be used for SET operations. This value is returned if IGMP is not configured within the system. For FI platform the configurable range for this object is 10 .. 3600

What is snIgmpQueryInterval?

This object sets the time interval, in seconds, at which the device sends out IGMP host query packets to discover active multicast group members, requiring DVMRP or multicast querier mode to be enabled first, and a value of 0 cannot be set and only appears when IGMP isn't configured. Admins tune this to balance multicast group-membership responsiveness against query traffic overhead on the network. The default of 60 seconds means the device probes for group membership once a minute, which an admin might shorten for faster detection of departed multicast receivers.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.2.6.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB::snIgmpQueryInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.2.6.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> FOUNDRY-SN-IGMP-MIB::snIgmpQueryInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.2.6.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> snIgmpQueryInterval.1
