Description: ADVA Optical Networking F3 platform MIB for time zone and NTP/SNTP configuration on FSP 150 network elements.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is F3-TIMEZONE-MIB?
This ADVA F3 platform MIB provides time zone and Daylight Saving Time (DST) configuration for FSP150CM/CC network elements, controlling how the device's local clock is offset and adjusted relative to UTC. It exposes configuration objects for the UTC offset, DST enable flag, DST UTC offset, and the specific start/end month, day, and time defining when DST transitions occur. This is primarily a configuration MIB rather than a runtime performance/fault MIB, but correct time zone/DST settings are important supporting context for interpreting timestamps in the device's other performance and fault data, ensuring event logs and alarm timestamps align with local time. It has no dependency on external IETF time MIBs, implementing its own F3-specific timezone/DST model alongside the broader F3 platform MIBs. It is deployed on ADVA FSP150CM/CC devices wherever accurate local-time timestamping is required for correlating events, logs, and performance data across a network. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the F3-TIMEZONE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in F3-TIMEZONE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ADVA FSP150CM/CC carrier Ethernet device
Monitoring Examples
An admin would set f3TimeZoneUtcOffset to the local standard-time offset, then enable f3TimeZoneDstControlEnabled with f3TimeZoneDstUtcOffset and the f3TimeZoneDstStartMonth/Day/Time and f3TimeZoneDstEndMonth/Day/Time objects to have the device automatically shift its clock for daylight saving. Verifying these settings periodically ensures event and alarm timestamps generated by the device remain correctly aligned to local time for troubleshooting.
What Can Be Monitored
- UTC offset configuration
- DST enable state
- DST UTC offset
- DST start/end date and time
