Description: Dell Force10 products registration MIB defining the OID subtree and product identifiers for Dell Force10 hardware platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is F10-PRODUCTS-MIB?
F10-PRODUCTS-MIB is a Dell Force10 (Dell Inc.) proprietary MIB whose sole purpose is to define the OID subtree and enumerate the specific product identifiers returned in sysObjectID.0 for Dell Force10 network hardware platforms - switches, routers, and related appliances. It contains no operational data of its own; instead it is a registration/identity module that lets management systems map a device's reported sysObjectID to a specific Dell Force10 model or platform. In a monitoring context its value is purely identification, enabling NMS tools to automatically recognize which Dell hardware model is being managed, which then determines what other MIBs (interfaces, environment, CPU, etc.) apply for further hardware/software status polling. It has no data of its own on uptime, temperature, or software status; it is a supporting/reference module. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI OBJECT IDENTIFIER registration hierarchy and is used alongside the full Dell Force10 MIB suite in any Dell Force10 network deployment. Engineers can download the F10-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in F10-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Dell Force10 (Dell EMC Networking) switches and routers
Monitoring Examples
This module is a product-identification/OID registration MIB rather than a data-bearing MIB, so it defines no runtime tables or counters to poll; it simply assigns a unique OID under the Dell enterprise arc to each Force10 hardware model so that sysObjectID.0 on a live device resolves to a recognizable product identifier. There is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly since it exposes no operational data objects.
