smtShortPreambleInvoked
Module: EXTREME-SUMMIT-WM-DOT11-EXTNS-MIB
OID (symbolic): EXTREME-SUMMIT-WM-DOT11-EXTNS-MIB::smtShortPreambleInvoked
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.5.3.1.1.7.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Specifies the type of preamble used in an 11b/g radio: always short, always long or automatically selected.
What is smtShortPreambleInvoked?
Controls the preamble length an 11b/g radio uses on the air: shortPreamble(1) forces the shorter, more efficient preamble, longPreamble(2) forces compatibility with older clients that only support long preambles, and autoSelectPreamble(3) lets the radio choose automatically; an admin would pick longPreamble(2) if legacy 802.11b clients are failing to associate.
