Description: Extreme Networks MIB for managing High Capacity Link Aggregation Groups (HCLAG) providing enhanced LAG statistics on ExtremeXOS platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EXTREME-HCLAG-MIB?

EXTREME-HCLAG-MIB is an Extreme Networks vendor MIB for High Capacity Link Aggregation Groups (HCLAG) with integrated health checking, extending standard link-aggregation concepts with enhanced statistics on ExtremeXOS platforms. It exposes LAG membership, per-member health-check status, and enhanced aggregation statistics for high-capacity link bundles. As a hardware/software status MIB it's used to monitor the operational health of aggregated links — detecting a member link's health-check failure, degraded throughput, or a LAG falling below its minimum active-link threshold, all early indicators of a failing physical link. It builds on standard link-aggregation concepts (IEEE 802.3ad/LACP, IF-MIB) though implemented as an Extreme-proprietary extension. It's typically deployed in data-center or campus core networks where ExtremeXOS switches use high-capacity aggregated links between switches or to servers and operators need finer-grained health visibility than standard LAG MIBs provide, which is precisely where EXTREME-HCLAG-MIB SNMP monitoring fits in.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EXTREME-HCLAG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Extreme Networks ExtremeXOS-based switch

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were supplied for this module, so exact table names can't be confirmed; based on its description, an admin would typically poll per-link health-check status and aggregation statistics for each LAG member, watching for a member link reporting a failed health check or being marked inactive, which would indicate a degraded physical link even while the LAG overall remains up.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LAG member health-check status
  • aggregated link statistics
  • active link count per LAG
