Description: Manages IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Groups, member port states, and LACP parameters on Ericsson routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-LAG-MIB?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-LAG-MIB is an Ericsson enterprise MIB for router platforms that manages IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs), which bundle multiple physical ports into a single logical high-bandwidth, redundant link using LACP. It exposes objects identifying each LAG by name and ID and listing the constituent member ports by slot and port number, along with notification, group, and compliance definitions for standards conformance reporting. Its monitoring value is centered on link-bundling hardware/software status: confirming which physical slot/port members are currently part of a given LAG, detecting when a member port has dropped out of the bundle (reducing available bandwidth or redundancy), and receiving notifications on LAG state changes. It is built on and depends on the IEEE 802.3ad (now 802.1AX) Link Aggregation standard for its underlying LACP behavior. It is deployed on Ericsson routers in service-provider or enterprise backbone links where multiple physical ports are aggregated for bandwidth and resiliency. Engineers can download the ERICSSON-ROUTER-LAG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ROUTER-LAG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ericsson router
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll eriRouterLAGId together with eriRouterLAGConstituentSlot and eriRouterLAGConstituentPort to enumerate which physical ports currently belong to a given LAG identified by eriRouterLAGName. If the expected number of constituent slot/port entries for a LAG drops (for example, from four member ports down to three), that indicates a member link has failed or been administratively removed, reducing the aggregate's bandwidth and redundancy -- a condition the associated eriRouterLAGNotifications would also be expected to signal.
What Can Be Monitored
- LAG name/identifier
- constituent slot and port membership
- LAG member count/state
- LACP notifications
