What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-ALARM-TC?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-ALARM-TC is a vendor-specific Ericsson MIB that defines textual conventions for alarm type, severity, and state, used across other Ericsson router alarm MIB modules. As a TC-only module it does not itself expose runtime object instances; it standardizes how alarm severity/state/type values are encoded so multiple Ericsson alarm MIBs can report faults consistently. Its practical relevance to monitoring is indirect: alarm types it supports are surfaced through companion fault/alarm MIBs reporting hardware faults such as power-feed or timing-of-day signal failures. It is explicitly a dependency for other Ericsson router alarm-reporting MIBs rather than a standalone monitoring MIB. It is deployed as part of the Ericsson router/telecom equipment SNMP MIB suite in service-provider network environments. Anyone provisioning SNMP monitoring for Ericsson router alarms will typically need an ERICSSON-ROUTER-ALARM-TC download alongside the companion fault MIBs, since the alarm severity and state enumerations it defines are required to decode those modules correctly.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ROUTER-ALARM-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ericsson Router 6675 — current mobile-transport router in the Ericsson Radio System portfolio, the closest living lineage to Ericsson's legacy service-provider router alarms
Monitoring Examples
This module defines textual conventions only and contains no runtime data objects of its own to poll; monitoring is performed via companion Ericsson alarm MIBs that reference these conventions, such as alarms named chassisTodInASignalFail, chassisTodInBSignalFail, chassisTodInAPowerFeed, and chassisTodInBPowerFeed, which indicate timing-reference signal or power-feed failures on the chassis.
