Description: Dell EqualLogic RAID MIB providing management objects for RAID set configuration, status, and rebuild operations.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EQLRAID-MIB?

EQLRAID-MIB is Dell EqualLogic's proprietary MIB for the RAID subsystem within EqualLogic PS-series iSCSI SAN storage arrays, exposing the mapping between RAID sets (LUNs) and the storage pools they belong to. It defines a RAID LUN table associating each RAID logical unit with its storage pool, forming the basis for monitoring the underlying disk redundancy layer beneath the array's iSCSI volumes. Although the sampled objects are limited, a RAID MIB of this type is used above all to monitor hardware disk-health status - RAID set state, degraded/rebuilding conditions, and pool-to-LUN membership - which is critical for catching a failed or rebuilding drive before data loss occurs. It is part of EqualLogic's private enterprise MIB suite and is typically used alongside other EqualLogic MIBs (e.g., for disks, controllers, and volumes) for full array health visibility. It is typically deployed in enterprise/SMB data centers running Dell EqualLogic PS-series SAN arrays where storage administrators need to verify RAID redundancy and rebuild status. Engineers can download the EQLRAID-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EQLRAID-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell EqualLogic PS-series iSCSI SAN storage array

Monitoring Examples

Polling eqlStoragePoolRAIDLUNTable, keyed by entries in eqlStoragePoolRAIDLUNEntry, lets an administrator confirm which RAID LUNs are associated with which storage pool on the array, verifying that volumes are backed by the expected RAID configuration. A change or gap in this table can indicate a RAID set being reconfigured, rebuilt, or removed, which would be a signal to check for an underlying disk failure. Given the limited sample objects provided, further granular status (e.g., rebuild percentage) objects likely exist elsewhere in EqualLogic's broader storage MIB but cannot be confirmed from this list.

What Can Be Monitored

  • RAID LUN-to-storage-pool association
